Friendship Quotes

‘A friend is someone who helps you up when you’re down, and if they can’t, they lay down beside you and listen’ – Winnie the Pooh

It’s been a while since I did a friendship post so today I wanted to celebrate my amazing friends! Life isn’t always easy and, like everyone else, I have my good days and those that are not so good. There have been quite a few of those not so good ones recently but my friends have rallied round, kept my spirits up, provided practical and emotional support and been truly incredible. I hope that everyone reading this has got friends (and/or family of course) who do the same for them. Enjoy the quotes!

‘Good friends are like stars. You don’t always see them, but you know they’re always there’ – unknown

‘A friend is one of the nicest things you can have and one of the best things you can be’ – old saying

‘A good friend is like a four leaf clover; hard to find and lucky to have’ – Irish Proverb

‘Friendship isn’t a big thing – it’s a million little things’ – unknown

‘It is one of the blessings of old friends that you can afford to be stupid with them’ – Ralph Waldo Emerson

‘Friends are those crazy people who keep coming back, in spite of being exposed to the real you’ – Richelle E Goodrich

‘Things are never quite as scary when you have a friend by your side’ – Bill Watterson

‘Friends make the good things better and the bad things not so bad’ – unknown

‘There’s nothing better than a friend, unless it is a friend with chocolate’ – Linda Grayson

‘Many people will walk in and out of your life, but only true friends will leave footprints in your heart’ – Eleanor Roosevelt

‘A true friend knows your weaknesses but shows you your strengths’ – unknown

‘Tell me your friends and I’ll tell you who you are’ – Assyrian Proverb

‘True friendship isn’t about being there when it’s convenient, it’s about being there when it’s not’ – unknown

‘Lots of people want to ride with you in the limo, but what you want is someone who will take the bus with you when the limo breaks down’ – Oprah Winfrey

‘Time and good friends are two things that become more valuable the older you get’ – unknown

I hope you love these quotes as much as I do and can relate to them. Before I finish, I thought this one was funny although I truly hope this never happens to anyone!!

‘Best friends are those who don’t say anything when you show up at their door with a dead body. They just grab a shovel and follow you!’

For our tiny tweak this week, is there someone you haven’t checked in with for a while? Someone you’ve been meaning to call but haven’t got around to it? If we haven’t spoken to someone for a while, we cannot know what they might be dealing with so maybe today is the day we could check in and make sure they are OK. We all need friends and sometimes just a quick message to say “Hi, how are you?” could make all the difference to someone. It’s also really important to be our own best friend and treat ourselves as kindly as we would treat someone else.

And to finish, a friendship quote I’d never heard before but think is lovely:

‘A friend is someone who knows the song in your heart and can sing it back to you when you have forgotten the words’ – C.S. Lewis

Until next time xx

  1. I really loved all these quotes especially- ‘A friend is someone who knows the song in your heart and can sing it back to you when you have forgotten the words’ – C.S. Lewis. This is just so true. A friend in my opinion is someone who is there for you when you need them and someone who knows what you need when you’re at your lowest.
