Positive Quotes

‘You can, you should, and if you’re brave enough to start, you will’ – Stephen King

If you’ve been reading my blog for a while now, you’ll know that I love a quote and I always begin my posts with one. One of the reasons I do that is because reading a positive quote really helps me. Maybe they’re not for everyone but then I’m guessing you must be OK with them otherwise you wouldn’t be reading this post!

The reason I started with the Stephen King quote is because that was the one that pushed me to actually publish my blog rather than just think about it. I didn’t feel brave but it gave me the little push I needed.

Sometimes it can feel like the world is against us, events are conspiring to knock us off track but I truly believe that a positive attitude is what we need to change not just ourselves, but the world around us. It can be hard to just conjure up a positive attitude and that’s where the quotes come in!

No matter what your frame of mind, there are always quotes which seem to fit the moment perfectly. A positive or motivational quote can lift you up, raise your self-esteem, help you recover from a break-up, lower your stress levels, encourage you to do something or provide a quick burst of wisdom. They can trigger a powerful reaction in us.

Below I’ve shared some of the quotes which are either speaking to me at the moment or have done recently. I have hundreds of quotes on my phone camera roll and when I scroll back through them I can clearly see where I was emotionally at the time.

For the tough times:

‘If you can’t fly then run, if you can’t run then walk, if you can’t walk then crawl, but whatever you do you have to keep moving forward’ – Martin Luther King

For our tiny tweak this week, I’d like us to pick a daily positive quote and repeat it to ourselves throughout the day. I’m going to write mine down in a notebook so I slowly collect a list of positive quotes that I can read through whenever I’m feeling that I need some support (or a push)! There are hundreds to be found on social media sites or by simply googling ‘positive quotes’.

What inspires you? Is there a quote you love that you tell yourself regularly? Do you have different quotes for different moods and emotions? Why not let me know your favourite in the comments? You never know, it might appear in my next post!

Until next time x
